How It Works

Iowa's Local Workforce Development Areas (LWDA) are the starting point for making policy decisions about which workforce programs and resources should be prioritized in each area. Each LWDA is overseen by a board made up of that area's chief elected officers.

Together, the local areas work with Iowa's State Workforce Development Board to make certain that each region has the resources necessary to support employment programs across the state.
