Chief Elected Officials (CEOs) serve a vital role in establishing and governing the Local Workforce Development Board (LWDB) within their local area and are responsible for federal funds provided under Title I of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA).  The resources on this page are designed to assist CEOs in understanding their roles and responsibilities for WIOA.

Iowa CEO Training Modules

  • Module 1 - WIOA Overview (Building an understanding of WIOA, the workforce system structure and it's provisions)
  • Module 2 - Shared Liability Agreement (Building an understanding of the CEO Shared Liability Agreement, and introducing the tools and best practices to help Iowa CEO's develop the necessary local governance structure for the workforce system in Iowa.)

CEO Office Hours

CEO Office Hours are meetings with CEOs and Iowa Workforce Development (IWD) policy staff to allow for CEOs to have questions answered and engage in dialogue with other CEOs across the state.  Links to video recordings and presentation slides for each call are linked below, along with a brief description of topics covered in the call, as applicable.
